Hydrothol Granular is a non-selective, highly effective contact algaecide and aquatic herbicide containing 11.2% mono salt of endothall as the active ingredient. It is effective on a broad range of planktonic, filamentous, and branched algae along with submerged aquatic plants. Due to the potential for fish toxicity at higher rates, it is suggested that applications above 0.3 ppm be made ony by commercial applicators.
PLANTS CONTROLLED: Effective on a broad range of planktonic, filamentous, and branched algae. Susceptibility of algae may vary due to subspecies, strains or environmental conditions. Also effective on a broad range of aquatic weeds including: Hydrilla, Naiad, Elodea, Cabomba, Coontail, Bur Reed, Milfoil, Pondweed, Vallisneria and Water Stargrass.
APPLICATION RATES: For algae, generally rates of 3 - 16 lbs/acre-ft of water (0.05 - 0.3 ppm) are effective. Dosages may be increased from 0.3 - 1.5 ppm where greater longevity of control is desired or to improve efficacy on species that are difficult to control. AGAIN, due to the potential for fish toxicity at higher rates, it is suggested that applications above 0.3 ppm be made ony by commercial applicators. For submerged aquatic weeds, rates range from 27 - 162 lbs/acre-ft of water (0.5 - 3.0 ppm). Due to the toxicity to fish, the use of Hydrothol 191 Granular for submerged aquatic weeds is suggested only by commercial applicators. Do not treat more than 1/10 of the lake or pond at one time with doses in excess of 1.0 ppm.
USE RESTRICTIONS: Do not use water from treated areas for watering livestock, for preparing agricultural sprays for food crops, for irrigation or for domestic purposes with the following periods: Up to 0.3 ppm - 7 days after application, up to 3.0 ppm - 14 days after application, up to 5.0 ppm - 25 days after application. There are no swimming or fishing restrictions after treatment although fish may be killed by dosages in excess of 0.3 ppm.
